Leaf Peeping at Ashcroft

The bite of fall is in the air and that means the leaves will start to change. The historic ghost town of Ashcroft is regularly named one of the top places in Colorado to see fall colors by newspapers and magazines. While visiting Ashcroft, 11 miles up Castle Creek Rd., take a walk through history with our docents who will be offering tours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday. At just $3 per visit, it’s one of the least expensive, most iconic activities one can do in Aspen in September.

Once the colors start changing, send us your photos and we’ll keep an updated leaf-peeping blog  here. Email [email protected] with your Ashcroft (or Independence Ghost Town) fall images and stories.
