Families and school groups are invited to explore the past with kids-friendly activities and stories led by the AHS Education staff.

Advance registration required. Ticket sales close on Tuesday morning. There will be no tickets sold at the door. Space is limited and the event may sell out.
$25/adult (includes dinner and a beer) / $10/kid (includes dinner) / $15 adult admission (with beer only) additional beer $5 – at event

The community is invited to kick off summer at this beloved annual event featuring machine demonstrations, farm animals, bingo, museum tours, and music from the Buffalo Joe Bluegrass Band. Guests will enjoy Hickory House barbecue and a beer garden (vegetarian options and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available).

Annual Ice Cream Social
Saturday, August 7th | 2 pm– 4 pm
Wheeler/Stallard Museum
Free event admission / $3 ice cream bowls / $5 spiked “Aspen Crud” milkshakes
Guests of all ages are invited to celebrate the longstanding tradition of a community ice cream social in Aspen! The free event features music, a presentation of “A Briefly Complete History of Aspen” (a 45-minute crash course in Aspen history featuring song, dance, and character presentations), and most importantly, ice cream bowls replete with toppings! Boozy milkshakes for adults are available for a small fee. Since the mining era in Aspen, ice cream socials have been a popular summer gathering in the community.
