Neighborhood History Tour: Meadows and West End

Victorian to Midcentury: Architectural History Tour

Offered in celebration of The Aspen Institute’s  75th anniversary

A guided walking tour through Aspen’s famed West End residential neighborhood, a quiet gem of tree-lined boulevards bordered by the Aspen Meadows, Aspen Institute, and the Wheeler/Stallard Museum campuses. Learn little-known facts about the area, from native Ute activity to the former racetrack and rodeo, on a stroll past the neighborhood’s countless historical homes – immaculate examples of Victorian and midcentury modern architecture – while hearing stories of the people who lived there and the town that bustled around them.

Meets outside Paepcke Building at the Aspen Institute

This walking tour takes place on the trails, sidewalks, lawns, and street-sides on the Meadows campus and in the West End neighborhood.
