Neighborhood History Tour: West End

Victorian to Midcentury: Architectural History Tour

Step back in time through Aspen’s storied West End residential neighborhood, a quiet gem of tree-lined boulevards bordered by the Aspen Meadows, the Aspen Institute, and the Wheeler/Stallard Museum campuses. Learn little-known facts about the area, from native Ute activity to the former racetrack and rodeo, on a stroll past the neighborhood’s countless historical homes – immaculate examples of Victorian and midcentury modern architecture – with stories of the people who lived there as the town bustled and grew around them.

Meets outside The Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies

This walking tour takes place on the trails, sidewalks, lawns, and street-sides on the Meadows campus and in the West End neighborhood.
