Green Mountain
Offered in Partnership with Independence Pass foundation
Adventure over the streams and through the woods to Independence’s lesser-known and secluded sister ghost town on Green Mountain, which is home to several old miners’ cabins and the leftovers of a once-bustling mining operation. This difficult hike ascends above Independence Ghost Town to a saddle near the top of the Continental Divide.
Meet at the Farwell Mill turnout on Hwy 82 (below the Independence Ghost Town parking area)
This difficult hike takes place on steep dirt and gravel trails at high elevation
