History in Your Backyard: The Cabin that Moved to Marolt Open Space

Zupancis House and Barn buildings

Join AHS for a walk around the Holden/Marolt Mining & Ranching Museum property, where the McMurchy/Zupancis cabin and outbuildings were relocated in 2017. Curator Lisa Hancock will shed light on the masterful restoration of this time-capsule miner’s-cabin-turned-Victorian-era-home and the exhibitions that help tell the story of the Victorian era, the Quiet Years, the area’s agricultural industry, and the immigrants who helped shape the community.
The History in Your Backyard series features short lunch-hour tours to explore the stories of familiar places in the Aspen area.

Meet at the Holden/Marolt Mining & Ranching Museum, 4280 Highway 82

This brief walking tour takes place around the museum property and inside historical structures.
